A structured, multidisciplinary design of the outpatient PCI care pathway can safely and significantly increase same day discharge utilization, even in the setting of rising procedural volumes.  Aligning workflows with evidence-based criteria and continuously benchmarking performance enables sustainable improvement without compromising patient safety.
